Basic Elements Tank Knitting Pattern - is a DIGITAL DOWNLOAD by Sandi Rosner.  You will receive your download after checkout.

When the temperatures soar, only a tank top will do. But you’ll reach for this classic tank all year round. Layer it over a shirt or a tee for a bit of extra color, texture, and warmth. With its comfortable shaping and clean lines, it will easily pair with your jeans, shorts and skirts.

This top is knit in one piece. The body is knit in the round to the armholes, then divided and the front and back worked separately to the shoulder seams. It features subtle A-line shaping and a modest V-neck.

Use leftover yarns to create a striped tank, or reach for a gradient yarn to create a soft color change effect.  You could even try a textured yarn to create a signature piece for your wardrobe.  The possibilities for this tank really are endless.

Yarn: 650 (700, 800, 900)(1000, 1100, 1200) (1300, 1400, 1500) yds DK weight yarn

The original sample was made with the following: Five balls Berroco Mantra (100% Silk; 182yds/59g) in color 4498 Earth.  Try our Hand Dyed Diva Homegrown DK or original DK yarns, or go for our Ripple for a fun textured effect!

Needles: US 5 (3.75 mm) circular knitting needles, 16" and 32" long, and needles in preferred style for small circumference knitting in the round, or size needed to obtain the correct gauge.

US 3 (3.25 mm) circular knitting needles, 16" and 32" long, and needles in preferred style for small circumference knitting in the round, or two sizes smaller than size used to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Stitch holders or scrap yarn, tapestry needle

22 sts and 30 rows = 4" in Stockinette stitch using larger needles, after blocking.

Save time by taking time to check gauge.

Bust/Chest: 33 ½ (36 ¼, 39 ¼, 42 ¼)(45, 48, 51)(53 ¾, 56 ¾, 59¾)"

Length: 22 (23, 23 ½, 24 ¼)(24 ½, 25, 25 ½)(26 ¼, 26 ¾, 27 ¼)"

This tank is intended to fit loosely, with approximately 2-4" ease at the bust and 5-7" ease at the hip.

Sample shown is size 42 ¼".
